London newcomer props emerges with tongue-in-cheek new anthem ‘What Are You Waiting For?‘
Receiving support from Amazing Radio, Spotify editorial playlist ‘Fresh Finds’ and BBC Introducing, props is certainly making waves and becoming the talk of the town.
Explaining his thoughts on the track, props states, “What Are You Waiting For?’ is a story about an entitled and controversial journalist-turned-politician who gets the most powerful job in the land but still decides to actively screw people over.
If there’s a message of positivity in there, it’s to use what influence you have to do good. But mostly it’s just a fun song with lots of guitars.”
Criticising those at the top of the ladder, this relatable number is influenced by thoughts we all think at some stage growing up.
props shares; “I used to be worried about speaking my mind, let alone singing it. But now I’ve given up on being cryptic because I think what I want to say is kinda important. I find it so depressing that those in power choose to play games with people’s lives over the satisfaction of making people happy.
When writing ‘What Are You Waiting For?’ the lyrics were optimistic at the start, but as the song goes on I gradually admit that people don’t change that easily…”
A radiant alt-pop number that reminisces Biffy Clyro’s energy and MGMT’s colourful persona, ‘What Are You Waiting For?’ is definitely props’ strongest track to date.
