Bristol based songwriter Conal Kelly releases the hypnotic visuals for debut single ‘In My Head’
Conal Kelly returns with the dazzling music video for debut single ‘In My Head’. While the instrumentation on the track is edgy and secures an alt-pop approach, the visuals highlight the track’s subtle vulnerability.
On the visuals, Conal said, “I had a really clear idea in mind for how I wanted it to look, so it’s really satisfying to see the final thing come out so accurately! Also working with Elliot (Lion Island Media) has always been loads of fun, everything ran super smoothly and he’s as fast paced as I am when it comes to this creative stuff”.
A sort of escapism, the visuals use a brightly coloured palette through saturation to illustrate the disorderly feeling of overthinking.
With a subtle ‘middle fingers up’ approach to insecurities, the fierce nature of ‘In My Head’ is bathed in Conal’s true character. As the camera follows Conal’s every move, you become one step closer to feeling more empathetic.
On the track itself, Conal added, “I tried to push myself out of my comfort zone to avoid falling into old habits… I feel like this track best showcases my attempt at a fresh approach as a solo artist, so made sense to lead with it as a debut single.”
Maybe out of his comfort zone, the release is bewitching and something to stick on repeat.
