Flor and the Sea unveil the video for spell-binding hit ‘A Candid Lie’
Munich based electro-pop meets indie two piece Flor and the Sea unveil spine-tingling anthem ‘A Candid Lie’, and it’s warm visuals.
Produced at their studio in Munich with help from producer Dieter Dolezel, the release was further mixed by Mortiz Enders at the hit-making Tritonus Studio in Berlin.
Taken off their debut EP, ‘A Candid Lie’ is bathed in a futuristic pop soundscape. Like the lovechild of The XX and London Grammar, the vibrance within the track is truly breathtaking.
Standing firmly out from the crowd, the synth-pop infused contender is paired with a visual of the duo performing with a live band.
On the release, the duo illustrated, “ ‘A Candid Lie’ was only built around three main elements: its loop-like complex beat, its synth hook and its haunting vocal refrain, though there’s so much more to discover between those elements… vocal samples, guitar lines, feedback, additional synth layers and bass modulations, all carefully arranged to give the listener something new to discover with each listen.”
A crystal clear release visually and musically, the dark undertones of the genre-bending anthem is simply bittersweet.
Flor and the Sea use emotive lyrics with uplifting instrumentation to give the track a special atmosphere. A song to connect to, you’ll feel magnetised to Flor and the Sea, whether you want to be or not.
