Back with her third single of the year, Lucy Warr’s ‘Rip It Off’ is synth pop heaven

Following in the footsteps of her electrifying single ‘Energy’, ‘Rip It Off‘ showcases how talented Lucy Warr truly is. A songwriter that oozes with personality and character, the new release feels connected to Jessie Ware and London Grammar.

Known for her distinctive voice, Lucy Warr’s ‘Rip It Off’ feels familiar yet refreshing. A comforting source within the world’s darkness, the new single details Lucy’s own experience with the world’s current mental health and climate state.

On the release, Lucy told us, “This track was born out of the first lockdown and the way I was speaking to myself, I had to get it out and into a song – it made me think that other people might be feeling the same and putting on a brave face when underneath they’re struggling to keep up with this distorted reality we’ve created with social media etc.

I want to open this conversation up more, to normalise the ups and downs of life, and that all emotions are as valid as the next – it’s okay not to be okay!”

Holding onto Lucy’s unique pop arrangements, the new single lives up to expectations while looking back on past releases with a huge smile. Coated in an elevating production from producer Tokøta, the track is fuelled with suspense, wide dynamics and pulsating instrumentation.

A true anthem, ‘Rip It Off’ showcases no signs of slowing down for Lucy Warr.
