Madelyn’s new single ‘Hold On, Light Up’ is an enchanting number with a hidden alt-pop meets jazz atmosphere
UK producer and songwriter Madelyn is back with her fourth single ‘Hold On, Light Up’. An alluring number that captures alt-pop with subtle elements of jazz within it’s chord progression, this adventurous number is simply spine-tingling.
Bringing you up to speed, Madelyn may still be at the beginning of her career, but previous releases have gone on to gain support from BBC Introducing and blogs across the web.
Shining with elegance through hypnotic beats, ‘Hold On, Light Up’ will easily follow in the footsteps of previous releases, and may even become Madelyn’s most successful track to date.
On her release, Madelyn told us, “I wrote this track a couple of years back now when I was making music in my mum’s cellar and trying to run away from normality. It’s about convincing somebody (or yourself) to go head-first for what you want in life.
I never actually intended to release it as a single, but two years on it still speaks for me and my plans, and I’ve constantly been drawn back to its slightly darker sound. It’s always been the track that I go to when I think about where I want to end up stylistically.”
Captivating and standing out from any crowd, ‘Hold On, Light Up’ may feature a darker side to Madelyn’s sound, but it’s crystal clear that this single deserves recognition.
Dark-pop coated with energy and personality, Madelyn’s songwriting is sure to win over your heart.
