The track is the latest success for the rapidly emerging artist.
In everything from debut release ‘Bedroom’ (which has now surpassed 30 million streams!!!) to recent Oscar Scheller collaboration ‘Playlist’, Litany has been delicately carving out a sound that feels distinctly her own and has her standing head and shoulders above a crowded UK alternative pop scene.
Latest release ‘Cream’ is the latest example of the prowess the artist has. The track is nuanced and sweet, with the artist defiantly deciding not to walk away from someone when things get tough, and it has an almost uplifting an inspiring nature about it, it its own, melancholy and subtle way. Litany has proven herself time and time again to be an artist who can adapt and transform herself, and this latest release may just be her most multi-faceted and interesting yet.
“It’s about being in a relationship with someone who was once full of the joys of spring but started to slump further and further into the clutches of depression before you. Without really thinking about it, I wrote it for them as well as myself I guess, as a kind of reassurance that, ‘yes, boys can cry and yes, you can try to push me away in an attempt to conceal your pain but I don’t scare easy, not when it comes to you anyway,’” explains Litany.
