Effortless and passionate are two words to describe Austrian artist Marcel’s latest single, ‘Back to You’. The first single of Marcel’s debut EP is a radiant number able to turn any frown upside down.
Working with a strong team behind him on ‘Back to You’, additional drums were recorded by Christian Eigner of Depeche Mode, and further mastered by 32 time Grammy-nominee James Auwater.
Prominently an indie-pop number, this glittering number feels like it would fit a coming-of-age movie where the main character finally finds themself after feeling lost for a while.
Sharing his thoughts on the release, Marcel states, “Back To You“ describes the situation I’ve been in for a long time now. The more I try to write memories and try to let go – the more I compare everything to the feelings I had for this one special person and it only leads to disappointment.
At the end of the day the only solution that I come to in my head is getting back together with this person. However, it‘s foolish – she moved on – everything has changed. I’m still in love with a distorted memory – an illusion that is haunting me.”
