The emerging artist continues to shine on her second single.
Having established her potential as a future stalwart of the pop scene on debut single ‘Hug it out’, Gabby Wilson has returned with its successor, the candid and emotional ‘The End’. The track sees the artist at her most raw and exposes, pouring out her feelings and thoughts about the breakdown of a relationship and the way that she processes its end.
Musically the track is nicely strung together, with some of Gabby’s cutting edge little quirks and moments within the production interspersed through a track that feels definitive and emotionally wrenching. The result is a track that really feels like the full stop at the end of a relationship, a signifier of a door closed.
“The End” is the next – and final – chapter in that story. She says: “I wrote this song after my long-term partner and I decided to go our separate ways to kill a relationship that was killing us. It’s about having unfulfilled dreams, and the everyday coming between you both in a relationship. Even when you break up you find yourself still unable to fully let go.”
