Philadelphia’s Moonroof have been steadily creating a name for themselves with their engaging brand of melodic indie rock, but seem to have deviated a bit from the norm on their latest release ‘Sweatshirt’.
The track packs a bit more of an edge than its predecessors, boasting an emo-tinged sound that feels more akin to acts such as Pinegrove and Turnover. It’s more measured verses give way to a crashing and rousing chorus that provides the apex of a wonderful, varied track. ‘Sweatshirt’ represents something of a tonal shift for Moonroof, and it will be exciting to see what comes next from the outfit.
