Having well and truly established themselves as one of the premiere acts in the UK right now, Sea Girls seem to go from strength to strength with each and every affecting release.
The latest of which is new single ‘Sick’, a pained and frustrated release that sees frontman Henry Camamile air some grievances. The beauty of Sea Girls and their sound however, is the way that they meld this frustration and introspection with truly memorable and catchy sounds, with ‘Sick’ feeling anthemic at times, in spite of its narrative.
Along with an agitated and candid music video that fits the track perfectly, ‘Sick’ is a track that feels like the perfect intersection between gut-wrenching honesty and hooky, engaging indie rock.
Directed by Joseph Delaney (Ashnikko, HMLTD) in Hackney, the stunningly shot video sees lead singer Henry Camamile reflecting in his gloomy room on all the things that make him sick. “It was very important that this video felt real and didn’t stray from the intended feelings of frustration and repetition I was feeling in my life when this song was written,” Henry said of the video. “Being a filmmaker Joseph our Director totally felt the song’s meaning.”
The track is the first release from the outfit’s upcoming new album Homesick – out 14th January 2022 on Polydor.
