The track is from the outfit’s upcoming self-released EP Flavour of Labour
Brimming with an insatiable sense of energy and fire from its offset, latest Public Body single ‘Reset My Password’ continues to send the burgeoning Brighton outfit on an upward trajectory.
Everything from the track’s angular riffs to its jagged, raw edge makes for a listening experience that feels both deceptively fun and acerbically cutting. There is a forthright ferocity found in this sound, one of scathing discontent, agitated by the mundane pointlessness of 9 to 5 life. ‘Reset My Password’ however, is anything but mundane, and the outfit’s modern take on post-punk infused indie rock is really looking capable of turning heads and winning over hearts and minds.
Commenting on the new single, Public Body frontman Seb Gilmore said: “At the height of Covid, everyone was clapping for NHS staff and key workers… and that got me thinking what my place is in all this mess. I then logged onto my work computer and was advised by a popup that it was time to reset my password. So I wrote a song about how pointless and useless my job is to the world when everything felt like it was breaking and seemed apocalyptic.”
