The track follows the release of her debut offering ‘Try Again’
The feeling of having romanticised somebody in your head and being disappointed by the reality is something that is relatable for a lot of people, and it is a feeling that Anna Baldree explores in her thoughtful second single ‘Final Girl’.
While the tracks lyrics touch on themes of horror, musically the sound is anything but, taking on an ethereal and emotional feel and showcasing the depth and layers to the artists writing. The track is an atmospheric journey in which you can almost feel the smoke clearing around the artist as she comes to her senses and loses her rose-tinted glasses. A fun and delicately created pop track from an exciting emerging artist.
“I wrote Final Girl about this person I had hyped up in my mind and just romanticized to the point of no return.” Anna says of the track. “I really did have a dream they were a serial killer and woke up with this sense of clarity about the whole situation: Pining can be easier than actually getting to know someone, and it stays perfect in my head, as opposed to having the real thing only for it to be a disappointment.”
