Who TF is LtB?
LtB is a Montreal-based artist. He is most known for his heart-wrenching lyrics and emo-influenced melodies. His father being a successful businessman and his mother a famous actress, LtB has always had trouble finding his place in both worlds. As a result, he uses music to externalize his thoughts and feelings.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for 5 years. I started playing the piano when I was 13 years old. Although, I found my calling when I first started writing lyrics.
Why do you make music?
I make music to understand better the light and darkness inhabiting my mind. I also want to use my songs to help others who might be feeling the same way I am. Let them know they are not alone, and hopefully help them heal themselves.
What are your biggest influences?
Lil Peep, Kid Cudi and Mac Miller are all artists I sincerely look up to. Whether it is their lyrics, melodies, or the message they are pushing, all of them have had an important influence in my music.
What would you say has been your best moment so far?
My best moment was when I made the first song I liked. After many months of hardship, I had finally completed a song that I was proud of. The satisfaction it brought me was a feeling I will never forget.
How would you describe your sound to somebody unfamiliar with it?
Officially, on Apple Music, my sound is classified as Alternative. Truthfully I think my music is a mix of Alt-Rock, Alt Hip-hop and Cloud-Rap. Though, as weird as It may seem, I believe my lyrics remain the most crucial aspect of my signature sound. I specialize in hidden meanings and sentences with more than one way of interpreting them, making my lyrics profound and relatable.
What’s your dream “I’ve made it” moment?
My “I’ve made it” moment will be when all my shows will be sold-out. When thousands of people will come to my performance, expecting to live a great experience where we will all sing along and share this art together.
We love your single ‘Eye’, what more can you tell us about it?
“Eye” explains the need for change. The need to stop all you are doing and completely start again. On a more personal note, this song tells of a terrifying tale I lived a couple of months ago. One day, me and my friends decided to take some magic mushrooms… We all took what we thought was 2g, but in the end, it turned out to be 4g each. We weren’t ready for it, my senses were overwhelmed, and I was losing myself. In a state of panic, I called an ambulance. From that point on, I had the most horrifying experience I had ever lived. “Eye” describes that story better than I could’ve by simply telling it.
What else do you have planned for the near future?
I have an EP in the making. You can expect an essential narrative on drug abuse and mental health, not to forget bits of activism and positivism here and there. Not to forget many songs that could be classified as genre-bending.
And finally, who is your biggest fan right now?
My biggest fan is a little kid from south of Montreal. His mother often tells me that he puts my songs endlessly as soon as possible. Although he probably doesn’t know what my songs are about.
