Live the dream.
Anthemic alternative rock outfit The New Nostalgia showcase their unique charisma and British flair on their raucous new release ‘Ibis Budget’.
The track is pulled from their upcoming new LP BLEED & BLOOM and details the relatable but specific experience of staying in an Ibis budget hotel. There is a tongue in cheek sense of guile and attitude on the track, and the outfit rip through a searing and frantic three and a half minutes of bad decisions and chaotic commentary. An anthemic track that grows more desperate and chaotic as it progresses, wonderfully memorable stuff.
“I moved to The Netherlands under very chaotic circumstances back in 2017 and spent around two weeks living in a budget hotel near the airport while I tried to find an apartment to rent.” Lead singer Patrick McCallion says. “It was one of the most surreal, Alan Partridge style experiences of my life and I’ve basically been trying to find a way to get this into a song for the past five years! “Ibis Budget” is a chaotic farce of a track, which is basically the only way you can write about living out of a suitcase in a discount airport hotel!”
