With an ever-growing catalogue full of radio-ready, indie pop bangers, UK outfit The Trusted are a band that seem to be growing in confidence and guile with each new release, developing a sound that feels both effortlessly accessible and entirely their own.
Their latest addition to this arsenal is new single ‘Terrible Fight’, a track that features the aftermath of taking a mental beating and the ways that we have to shake it off and rebuild ourselves. The straight-talking lyrics and punch of the sound make for a dynamic and emphatic listening experience, as explosive as it is catchy and memorable, and featuring an expansive, varied soundscape that provides the sound with an ambitious sense of scope and adventure. On the song writing process for the track, Tom said “Terrible Fight is a song about being metaphorically beaten up. Part of growing up, is realizing that ‘life’ is basically an emotional/ psychological boxing ring. Whether it’s heartbreak, politics or loss, it kind of feels like we are all being hit from all sides. I wanted ‘Terrible Fight,’ to be a song about being knocked over by all these heavy punches as well as our ability to just keep moving forward“
