The track is the final single from her long-awaited new album Sublimation.
At CLOUT we have been singing the praises of Shalom a lot lately, and with good reason. The artist is consistently churning out captivating and engaging releases that highlight both the catchiness and depth of her sound, culminating with the release of her brand new album Sublimation.
One of these releases is the final single from the album, ‘Lighter’, a breezy release that is packed full of laid-back vibes that contrast the more sombre and existential nature of the lyrics. This kind of multi-faceted approach is something that Shalom does really well, with her vocals packing an immersive, emotional edge that hints at this kind of sadness perfectly. Another really stellar release from an artist who is really making a name for herself as of late.
“This song is one of my favorite things I’ve ever made.” Shalom says of the track. “I wrote it in 45 minutes and sent it to Ryan (Hemsworth), he sent it back with the guitars, and I fell in love with myself by making a song about wanting to be someone else”
