The new release is about the frustration that can come with trying to fit in and feeling like you don’t belong, accentuated by the emotive refrain of of “I try” in the track’s chorus and the increasingly agitated and exasperated nature of the vocal performance as the track progresses. From the progression of the arrangement throughout to the weight and rawness of Izzie’s lyrics and vocals, ‘Try’ makes for a memorable release that feels explosive and raw, ironically continuing to highlight what makes the artist stand out and feel exciting and different.
Izzie describes the track as: “My journey to self acceptance. When I was younger I never really felt like I fitted in, or conformed to the societal expectations of me. But, as I’ve grown up I’ve realised that I don’t want to be the same as everyone else, I like being different.”
