The track is the latest taste of the exciting artist’s upcoming debut EP.
Thanks to her wonderfully vibrant and youthful brand of indie rock, Norwegian artist Bo Milli has carved out a distinctive and refreshing appeal for herself that feels both soft and alluring but with a soaring, memorable edge, shining through on the artist’s latest new single ‘Come After Me’.
The track has a lush dreaminess to it throughout, punctuated by its rich textures and daydreamy aesthetic, rousing guitars inject the track with moments of life and emphatic charm but it is the artist’s youthful, effortless charm that steals the show here. Themes like overthinking, fantasy and hopefulness dominate a track that just has alluring sense of relatability to it, with the artist hoping that her love interest will chase after her and read her mind without her really letting on that that’s what she wants. These kinds of made up scenarios in our heads can often flood our thoughts, and the way that she articulates it in such soft and melodic fashion feels affirming and sweet.
Speaking more on “Come After Me”, Bo Milli said: “I’m fantasising about a big romantic gesture from someone I’m worried might not be that interested. I’m walking home from a party they’re still at, overthinking the whole night and feeling that if they come after me, that’ll somehow prove we’re on the same page. Although I haven’t told them how I feel, I hope they’ll know to leave the party and run after me like in the movies.”
