The artist continues to show off her raw bedroom-pop appeal on her latest single
The feeling of pursuing your art as a priority and throwing your all in to it can be a daunting one packed full of doubts and fears for many artists, and on her vulnerable and raw new single ‘Problem Child’, SOMOH explores these feelings in engrossing and thoughtful fashion.
Wrapped in her fuzzy, bedroom-pop aesthetic, the track has a really authentic feel to it throughout, both through the raw and impactful nature of her sound and the candid and almost conversational nature of her lyrics. These fears and anxieties that creep in throughout the track has a really resonating and relatable feel to them throughout, and whether it is music that you’re diving into or something else, the feeling of putting yourself out there and being at the mercy of so many different factors is one that is often harrowing. Thankfully, with the strength of SOMOH’s distinctive sound and style, we’re pretty certain that she doesn’t have much to worry about.
“I wrote this song after deciding to drop out of university and feeling like a bit of a failure to be honest!” SOMOH says of the track. “I was navigating the doubts I had about pursuing music and the uncertainty of what my future might look like. Now ‘Problem Child’ feels like a reminder to me that I made the right decision in taking a leap of faith with my music.”
