Well established as a band with a thoughtful and nuanced alternative pop sound that has a charismatic charm and allure that sticks to you and leave a memorable impression, Hotel Mira have gone from strength to strength thanks to their versatile and expansive appeal that has seen them adapt and evolve their creative style over the last decade.

The latest single from the outfit is new single ‘Waste Away’, an emotional and poignant track surrounding the theme of domestic abuse, touching on the mental anguish that it causes and how it manifests in a number of ways. The verve and energy of the band’s sound is still there but there is an atmospheric tension that is built throughout that feels fitting given the gravity of the subject matter, with the band really making a powerful statement on the release.

“‘Waste Away’ tells the story of Domestic abuse.” Charlie Kerr says. “The tendency to Blame oneself. The confusion and backwards way we justify abusive behavior. The way things can escalate slowly over time in a way that we don’t recognise until it’s too late. And of course, the trying to gather the courage to leave a partner and the very real threat of violence if you do. It is a love letter to the courage and resilience of survivors. Myself and close friends included.”
