“I began reflecting on the transformative power of confronting significant challenges head-on—choosing to face the storm rather than avoid it.” Shawn says of the new release “For me, “Hold Fast” embodies this theme of courage, with its sound reflecting that boldness in an urgent yet uncertain tone. This is especially evident in the repeated outro coda, which carries a pleading, almost vulnerable emotion. It captures both the fear of what lies ahead and the determination to push through. After writing a few new tracks, I brought them to my Portland-based band, and “Hold Fast” really stood out, so we decided to record it locally, with this track as a central piece.
