Having released her CLOUT-lauded, horror-themed single ‘carrie white’ last year, almost a year later to the day Maria Lane has decided to run it back with the release of ‘carrie white (halloween version)’, something of an enhanced version of the original release that doubles down on some of its more sinister elements.

The new version of the track utilises things like electric guitars and unique production elements like screams and haunting voices to create an even more unique and horror-inflected atmosphere than the original, making for a track that feels reminiscent of the original release but with the a more halloween-y and over the top aesthetic. The emotional resonance and impact of the narrative and the plight of the titular character still remains, but the even more eerie and spectacular nature of the instrumentation makes for a whole other spectacle of a listening experience altogether.
