The track showcases a more mature side to the band’s chaotic style
High-octane and explosive modern alternative rock is something that has become synonymous with Mother Vulture and their sound, with their chaotic and energetic sound evoking the same spirit and intensity as their lauded live show and all of the frenzied carnage that comes with it.
The latest single from the band comes in the form of ‘Slow Down’, a track that sees the band reaching for a greater sense of maturity while still maintaining the ripping, heavy nature of their sound and style. Narratively, the track explores feelings like anxiety and self-destructive tendencies with the kind of atmospheric intensity that feels consuming and intoxicating throughout the track, making for a gripping listening experience that masterfully showcases the most expansive and nuanced side of their sound, without ever compromising on any of the distinctions that have made them feel so exciting or dynamic.
“I wanted to use the lyrics to shine a light on the darker side of emotion, the way we sometimes want to flirt with self destruction and that temptation to fall from grace.” Georgi Valentine Ivanov says. “Because the world gets too much sometimes, and you think something has to break. It’s darker than some of the other stuff we’ve written but it was fun to explore a new sound and get even heavier, both musically and lyrically.”
