Over the last few years, Irish trio Foot Squeaker have established themselves as not only a powerful and dynamic force in their nation’s alternative rock scene, but also a band who possess a socially conscious and forward-thinking mindset that means that their tracks often feel as vital and impassioned lyrically as they do stylistically.

Their brand new single ‘Birdline’ is a really great example of that, taking a stand against the increasingly anti-immigration narratives and views that seem to be spreading like wildfire across Ireland and the world at large, and the unwitting hypocrisy that so many of these people showcase through their views. The track’s crunchy riffs and hard-hitting instrumentation do a stellar job of reinforcing the anger and resentment displayed for these kinds of worldviews, urging listeners to display a greater deal of empathy and reflection with a rawness and cutting edge that really pierces through. Foot Squeaker are a band that leave a lasting, memorable impression on you for all of the right reasons, and this track’s thoughtful and brash nature packs a seismic, multi-faceted punch.

Lead singer Diarmuid Comerford says: “I wrote this song after being overwhelmed by the constant negativity and anti-immigration comments on social media. It’s a call for empathy and reflection.”

Foot Squeaker are playing a headline show in Anseo, Dublin on March 15th. You can find more information HERE.
