The track follows the release of their intense recent single ‘Laughter’
Following the rousing success of first single ‘Laughter’, a track that we fell in love with here at CLOUT, Brighton’s Slung have continued to build towards the release of their forthcoming debut album with the release of ‘Collider’, a track that expands upon the riffy and atmospheric nature of their alternative sound and continues to showcase their ambitious appeal.
The new single delves into murky occult themes and subjects like cults and deities, and their dark and sludgy sound provides a murky canvas for the storytelling and narrative to thrive on and feel as potent and captivating as possible. Following on from the more frenetic and unpredictable ‘Laughter’, this new release offers something a little bit more brooding and atmospheric, continuing to flesh out a sound that already has a litany of reasons to fall in love with it.
For the lyrics, I came up with a new narrative for this one based on the psych-infused nature of the tune. They tell the story of a cult who are ruled by a deity they refer to as the ‘ritual prophet’ and whom they converse with through the use of psychedelics.”
