The first single following on from the release of her celebrated 2024 LP You Don’t Want Help, latest Zoe Bayani single ‘Lamb’ is a grungy and brooding new single that continues to showcase the intense and dynamic appeal of the artist’s exciting sound and style.

The track’s intensity is something that is reinforced through every facet of the sound, from the hard-edged nature of the instrumentation to a emotionally heavy narrative that delves into feelings of vulnerability and leaving yourself exposed to the mercy of others due to feeling too intensely and being exploited as a result, much like a sacrificial lamb or something equally defenceless. This makes for a really charged feel that carries a tonne of weight, appealing to both listeners who feel a similar way or just those who can feel the emotion and pain dripping from the sound.

“I made myself completely vulnerable writing this song, in order to make it reminiscent of a time in my life where I felt completely vulnerable to the person it’s about,” says Bayani. “I’m sick of feeling like I’m too much, and I think it’s beautiful to love hard. I can’t paint my emotions onto the walls of a cathedral, so I figured putting them into this dramatic ballad would be the next best thing.”
