The track comes ahead of the release of their upcoming new album The Lash
Following the all-out assault of their brash recent single ‘Gallop of the Hounds’, celebrated Canadian alternative outfit The Dirty Nil showcase a more thoughtful and gentle side to their sound with the release of ‘Spider Dream’, a track that sees the band continue to surprise and enthral us with their creativity and charisma.
The track uncovers a softer side to the band while maintaining their cutting edge, utilising jangly chords and soothing melodies to craft the feeling that frontman Luke Bentham got when he woke up from a nightmare one morning. This distinctive inspiration for the track led to one of the most unique and introspective singles from The Dirty Nil, while feeling authentic and true to the band and their ethos all the same, something that makes for a really resonating and engrossing listening experience throughout its duration.
“I think that we have some of our more raging tunes on this record, but also some of our more, dare I say, delicate moments that we’ve ever committed to tape on this thing,” says vocalist/guitarist Luke Bentham. “It feels like the truest Nil record.”
