At just 21 years old, Southern California based artist Dean Griffin is somebody who has done a great job of establishing himself as a forward-thinking artist with an engrossing, genre-shifting style that is as capable of venturing into sultry, funk-laden territory as it is hard-edged alternative rock.
The artist’s latest single ‘Lights Out’ is firmly in the smoother and more nostalgic side of his sound, an intimate and seductive R&B release that is packed full of immersive moments and charismatic allure as he evokes the spirit of the 80s throughout. “‘Lights Out’ is that moment when everything else fades and it’s just you and the other person. Just real, and unfiltered,” Dean shares. “I wanted to capture that mix of desire and discovery, where love feels different once the lights are off. It’s intimate, while still having some groove to it.”
