Having spent the last few months building up hype and anticipation for their new four track EP FLANK!, Ottowa duo Wotts have now released the collection of tracks alongside its final single ‘i’ll see you when the game resets’.

The track has a really low-key, 90s influenced aesthetic that takes cues from bands like The Stokes and Pavement in its style, utilising a hazy and dreamy kind of feel that encapsulates their current lo-fi style in a really rewarding and engrossing way. There is more of a jagged and rough around the edges feel to this track when compared to the duo’s usual work and the polish that shimmer that goes into them, and this gives it a layer of authenticity and rawness, giving a track that surrounds themes of departure and saying goodbye the kind of uniquely comforting realness and honesty that amplifies the emotional weight of its message.

“This track felt like a real goodbye” explains Jayem, “But one that’s layered with hope that endings aren’t necessarily the end, that somehow, somewhere, sometime, we’ll get to do it all over again”.
