An exciting rising artist with roots in the Newcastle’s vibrant music scene, Hels Pattison is an artist who utilises a range of different influences and styles to create a sound that feels distinctively her own, with inspiration coming from sources as wide ranging as from Chappel Roan to AC/DC.
The artist’s thoughtful latest single ‘Merry-Go-Round’ is a wonderful showcase of this appeal, melding timeless, story-driven storytelling with a catchy and charming modern appeal that manifests itself in hard-hitting, country-pop fashion. The relatable new release explores the push and pull that comes in the uncomfortable middle ground between youthful exuberance and feeling the need to be more grounded and self-conscious as we get older, trying to find a balance along the way. There are a lot of really fun and dynamic aspects to the sound and the personality-filled and engrossing nature of Hels’ vocals, and it makes for a really rewarding and resonating listening experience that is packed full of flair and character.
