The track and video come ahead of the release of their upcoming new album Walk Among The Poppies
With their highly anticipated album Walk Among The Poppies set for release in September, Major Spark have released a showcase of what is to come from the rest of the project in the form of ‘The Other Side’, a propulsive new indie rock banger that packed full of driving hooks and indie rock charm.
There is a nostalgic glow to the sound and style of the track that evokes the spirit of a wide range of genres, with the melodic yet hard-edged vocals evoking the spirit of bands like Oasis and Blur while the whirring synths have an 80-tinged aesthetic to them throughout. The end result is a track that borrows from a wide range of influences, and that feels intrinsically modern and dynamic as a result, both hard-hitting and thoughtful, driving and considerate, meticulously crafted but giving off a rawness and grit that packs a hell of a punch.
