Having heralded the release of their debut single ‘Shapeshifter’ back in June, we have since been eagerly awaiting the release of YEARN‘s full length album of the same name, with its release now cementing Lily Minke Tahar’s project as one of our favourite discoveries of the year thanks to her nuanced approach to crafting her sounds and the depth that comes with it.
A track that encapsulates the appeal of the project is the album’s second single ‘Midnite Mine’, a delicate and off-kilter release that is packed full of these unexpected quirks and thoughtful moments, interrupted by moments that feel altogether more disconcerting, almost like something is taking over the track and mutating it over time.
