Alluring husband and wife duo The Bergamot have spent the last decade or so crafting thoughtful and intimate indie-folk that leaves a really resonating impression on listeners, both thanks to the nuanced and carefully considered instrumentation on display and the heartfelt nature of their lyrics and narratives.

Their latest single ‘The Beauty We See’ is a warm and moving release that sees them explore their hopes for the future and the fate of the world around us, making for a tender and impactful listening experience that has you pining for a peaceful and better tomorrow as explored through the excellent track. The addition of the Notre Dame Children’s Choir makes for a really smart collaboration on the track, with their vocals and adding a youthful charm and even more warmth to the track, while their inclusion just as a concept echoes this idea of a better tomorrow, with the children offering a more literal representation of that.

“I really wanted this song to illustrate to the listener that we must continue to build a future we believe in,” shares Nathaniel Paul, who penned much of the album. “If you can dream it, one day you’ll see it right outside. It’s a message that’s being overshadowed in today’s world. I wanted to shine a light on being the warrior — not the victim. We have to continue to strive for a better future.”

The moment the Notre Dame Children’s Choir entered the studio to record, something transcendent happened. “Hearing the children sing this song — it gives me hope for our future,” Jillian Speece adds. “It reminds me why we create in the first place.”
