The charity single is a tribute to Alice, Bebe and Elsie who tragically lost their lives in the Taylor Swift stabbings in Southport last year
In an increasingly fractured world that seems to be characterised by the division and tragedy that feels like it is all around us in recent times, Rachel Newnham has crafted ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is (Broken)’, a track about the fear that surrounds such uncertain times and the events that have left home feelings not much like home at all.
The central incident that the track was crafted around are the Taylor Swift stabbings that happened in Rachel’s hometown Southport last year, with the lyrics poignantly addressing the futures that the three young girls that lost their lives could have had that were cruelly taken from them. The heartfelt nature of Rachel’s lyrics and vocals and the moving nature of the sound does a great job of paying tribute to Alice, Bebe and Elsie, and all of the proceeds from the release will be going to the foundations set up by the girls families each targeting different charities.
