Australian pop artist and CLOUT favourite Yorke has is somebody who has been building up to the release of her new EP unfinished business with a collection of excellent releases that promised an excellent collection of tracks once it finally dropped, and now that it is out we can confirm that it is definitely deserving of the hype.
A standout track from the EP is the new single ‘airplane mode’, a high-octane and energetic indie pop banger that feels relentless from the moment that it starts and never lets up throughout its duration. Yorke’s vocals feel as focussed and intense as ever here, and the upbeat and dynamic nature of the track just seems to amplify everything that feels infectious and exciting about it in riveting fashion. The track and the album as a whole are further triumphs for Yorke who has been rising in acclaim and popularity in recent times, and we plan to keep replaying this EP for the foreseeable.
“airplane mode is my favourite track off the EP, and when you listen to the deluxe, I think everything makes a lot more sense. It becomes the opener and sets the scene of the EP being an emotional journey to navigate my life in my 20s. It’s almost like this pipe dream of wanting to feel nothing, and then love on the run comes in and you’re swept straight back into the story of finding someone when you least expect it. For me, it’s kinda like the protagonist of love on the run breaks down the barriers that airplane mode set,” Yorke shares.
