An indie pop duo that are lauded for their ability to craft impossibly catchy sounds while making you feel and resonate with what they’re saying, Electric Guest feel like they’re they are riding an incredible wave of momentum as of late, with each new release feeling as exciting and thought-provoking as the last.
Their new single ‘Stand Back For You’ is a moving exploration of love and the ways that we have to sometimes put the shine on somebody else in order to make sure that things work. There is a soulful nature to the sound and the vocals that heightens the impassioned feel of the track and really drives home the emotion and heart that has been poured into it, making for a release that has a raw, beating heart that implores you to resonate with it and apply it to similar situations you’ve been in yourself.
“It took a few years to finish this song,” said Asa Taccone of the new single. “I couldn’t touch it for long periods of time because of what it meant to me. Relationships are hard. If you want a plant to flower you must give it the sun it needs. Sometimes in love you must take second stage.”
