We had a chat with emerging UK indie rap artist Liam C and found out some more about his infectious new single ‘Tina’
Since emerging onto the UK indie scene last summer, Liam C has been establishing a youthful, creative sound that has seen him heralded as one of the region’s emerging shining lights, boasting a style that is packed full of catchiness, charm and drive.
The artist’s third and most recent single ‘Tina’ is a track that perfectly encapsulates Liam’s appeal, packed full of his razor sharp writing and a playful indie rap style that evokes the spirit of artists like Jamie T and Everyone You Know. There is something relatable and real about the the track and the resonating lyrics, delving into the pitfalls of young hook ups their carefree nature, and we had a chat with Liam C to find out a bit more about the release and how it came together.
Hey! We love your new single ‘Tina’, what more can you tell us about it?
It’s the first time I heard my music back and was blown away. I wrote it in one of my first sessions with Future cut and I genuinely shocked myself. It gave me the confidence to write even more BANGERS!
What was the process like putting it together?
Getting the song finished wasn’t a long process but getting it out felt like a lifetime. I guess it’s hard holding onto something that you know is gonna be massive 😉
What were your biggest influences when creating it?
Funnily enough Tion Wayne! I wrote it just after meeting him and I love his delivery when rapping. We changed the delivery later.
How do you think that your unique experiences have impacted your sound?
In every single way. I sing and perform like I have nothing to lose… because right now I don’t. My songs and shows feel like an adventure.
What else do you have planned for the near future?
Loads of new music and the bookings are rolling in. Can’t wait to show up and shut down anything I can in ‘26 ❤️
