Nebraska-born songwriter Will Griffey’s project EverWill returns with the thought-provoking, hard-hitting new single ‘Shame’
A track that does a really powerful job of tapping into the human psyche and analysing the ways that external factors like money, attention, and perceived ideas of status and influence affect the way that we treat each other, EverWill‘s first single of 2026 is a track that makes a really resounding statement.
The acoustic nature of ‘Shame’ does a great job of stripping-back anything that could be a distraction from a message that feels inherently very human and raw, and a committed vocal performance helps to double down on that. Themes like the way that the internet and our digital lives have influenced us and challenged things like empathy and conscience make for really thought-provoking and memorable moments, and makes for a track that hits hard and leaves a sobering impression on you by the time it ends.
“I hope people don’t listen to this and try to assign me a political ideology,” Griffey says. “If anything, I find the extremes on all sides to be unhelpful. I want the listener to think about what it feels like to be ashamed, not to tear themselves down, but to reawaken that inner voice that tells us when we are crossing lines that harm others and ourselves.”
