With the release of her new single ‘Day In The Life’, Lizzie Esau does a really compelling job of articulating the suffocating cycles and the routines, motions, and monotony of an everyday life that strives to suck the life out of us and leave us overwhelmed.
The track’s repeated refrain of “Is that good enough?” feels like a question that many of us are asking us on a regular basis, consumed by what modern life has become with no respite or breaks from it. The hard-hitting and atmospheric nature of the sound does a great job of mirroring this feeling in a way that feels compelling and dynamic, and its universal themes and the crushing relatability of it makes for a resonating listening experience.
