The track comes ahead of the release of her upcoming new EP Hana
Armed with an explosive, vibrant and modern rock sound that has singled her out as one of the UK alternative scenes most lauded rising stars, Welsh artist Hana Lili has been on an incredible run of form as of late as she edges towards the release of her new EP Hana, and her latest single ‘Ur Girlfriend’s a Lawyer’ is a welcome reminder of her explosive appeal.
The artist pulls no punches on the new single, tapping into the rawness and honesty that has become her signature as she calls somebody out on overstepping the boundaries of being in a relationship and flirting with other people. There is a really dynamic and cathartic feel to the track and her vocal delivery, bringing a melodic edge to a chaotic situation that is matched with a hard-hitting instrumental and an anthemic chorus that feels destined to stick with you for well beyond your listen.
Hana adds; “Ur Girlfriend’s a Lawyer” is a song about this guy who had a girlfriend, but he was overstepping the line of boundaries. I wrote this song a while after the situation happened, and I think as time went on, I just thought more about the situation and the girlfriend involved… and you kind of realise how much of an idiot he was. I wanted the song to be full of energy and unforgiving.
