It offers a really fun juxtaposition from the dead conversations and arduous nights out that the track explores through its themes, with its restlessness keeping things feeling fresh and dynamically. It is a theme that a lot of listeners will be able to resonate with and relate to, while continuing to showcase the vibrancy and colourful nature of ill peach’s sound.
Small Talk’ came from this collection of overheard moments, but it really clicked for me while I was eating at a nice restaurant in Minneapolis,” explains Corazza. “I was already deep into making the album at that point, and I’d find myself going out to eat with a bit of a mission—if I’m being honest, mostly to eavesdrop. Maybe I’d be bored with the conversation at my own table, or just more interested in everything happening around me. And no matter where I turned, it was always the same thing—so painfully mundane and basic.”
