The track is the first taste of the celebrated artist’s upcoming sophomore album

An artist characterised by her distinctive voice, poignant lyrics, and the character and personality that is etched all over her work, Martha Hill has been a favourite of ours here at CLOUT over the last few years, crafting sounds that feel both captivating and heartfelt through her authentic and intimate lens as a writer.

The artist’s latest single ‘Granite Feet’ is a track that sees Martha lean into a more indie-folk sound, further bringing out this aforementioned intimacy and earnesty in her sound. The track explores the heartening feeling of finding somebody who offers the answers and clarity that you didn’t even know that you were searching for, not offering perfection or anything impossible, but something real and pure instead. Created and co-written with the artist’s longtime friend and neighbour Jordie Cooke, ‘Granite Feet’ leans into this imperfection through the sound, amplifying the heart and raw-edged feel of the sound, and it makes for a package that feels effortlessly moving and alluring throughout.
