The track follows up on the rising artist’s immersive debut single ‘Dead Ends’
An emerging Belfast singer-songwriter who has quickly been establishing himself as a memorable presence in the scene with the distinctively rich tone of his vocals and his heartfelt, immersive narratives, Eamon Donnelly is somebody who turned heads with his debut single ‘Dead Ends’ back in April, and now looks to build on that momentum with its follow up ‘Pale Imitations’.
The new release is one that is steeped in authenticity and heart throughout, finding the artist at a tough time both in his personal life and as an artist, with relationships seemingly fading away and feeling past his best as a songwriter and performer. The result is a track that has a really emotional core to it that bleeds through every facet of the vocals and the instrumentation, with the heartbreaking refrain of “maybe this well’s run dry” doing an impeccable job of painting a picture of how helpless the artist feels as all of these facets of his life spiral out of control, longing to find solutions but feeling depleted and trapped in the process. Thankfully, we believe that this track is more than enough proof that Eamon has more left in the tank, and look forward to see what else he does with his solo project and how he continues to explore his sound.
