The short track is an emphatic statement of intent from AKA George
Clocking in at just one minute 56 seconds, AKA George‘s latest single ‘Bad For You’ wont be the longest track that you hear today, but it may just be the most impactful.
Showcasing the artists intense and hard-hitting brand of guitar-driven indie rock, ‘Bad For You’ is a claustrophobic and candid exploration of a toxic relationship, with a kind of restless and frantic energy that encapsulates this energy perfectly. It’s self-isolation themed music video accents these themes in a unique and interesting way, and provides for a unique and topical package that is unlike much else you’ll see or hear any time soon.
“Bad for you is about being in a toxic relationship… but being unable to resist it.” AKA George has said of the track. “I was craving it like a drug. I knew it was bad for me but i was never going to stop. I’m one of those people who goes all in. I don’t like half measures, if I’m doing something I’m doing it 100%. That can cause problems sometimes – you can get in too deep and things become messy, especially in a relationship – but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
