We had a chat with multi-faceted electro-pop talent Adelina following the release of her fierce new single ‘Out of Love’
Over the last few years, Adelina has been establishing her razor sharp brand of cool electronic pop with a raft of exciting singles, showcasing the charisma and appeal of the artist and her distinctive style.
The latest of which, her new single ‘Out of Love’, has already grown into the artist’s most successful release to date, packed full of swagger and an icy coolness that highlights everything that makes the artist and her work feel so enticing and memorable. There is a fierceness that permeates the track throughout, as the artist rebuilds herself following the breakdown of a relationship and realises how much better off and stronger they are for it. There is a slick dark pop energy that permeates the sound, and the sheer power within the artist’s aura and vocal delivery resonates throughout the track, providing Adelina with her most emphatic and artist defining moment to date. We love this track and the project and figured that we would have a chat with Adelina to find out some more about the woman behind the music and what plans she has for the future.
Who TF is Adelina?
I always feel like I know myself deeply until someone asks “So tell me about yourself” like, do you want to know my deepest darkest secrets or what I do on a day to day basis, HA! In a nutshell, I am a mixture of a millions different things and a million different emotions! I am a super passionate person, really feminine but also a little gangster, I must say. I am a singer/songwriter, who grew up in Australia. My background is Albanian and I speak Albanian fluently. I have a deep deep love for music and performance.
How long have you been making music?
I have been releasing music for about 5 years now, making music for many many years. I wrote my first song when I was about 14 and have kept writing ever since.
Why do you make music?
It makes me happy. Music has always been a safe-place for me, an outlet for every emotion. I love how you can explore every aspect of your personality through music. This is why I love writing, I have so many dimensions to my personality and I feel safest expressing myself through sound.
What are your biggest influences?
I grew up listening to so many genres and I really think all of those genres mixed together influenced me a-lot. I mostly listened to underground rap growing up, but I also loved rock music, Pop and RnB. Now that I think of it, I was a pretty strange kid, I could rap every lyric to a Nas song then would get on stage at a school talent show dancing and singing “Toxic” By Britney Spears haha! My biggest individual influence would be Beyonce, in terms of performance. She is such an incredible performer and vocalist.
What would you say has been your best moment so far?
I think my best moment so far has been writing and bringing “Out of love” to life. I really loved this track, I couldn’t wait to release it and its been really awesome watching the streaming numbers grow daily.
How would you describe your sound to somebody unfamiliar with it?
I would describe my sound as edgy, a little dark with a dash of petty…
What’s your dream “I’ve made it” moment?
When I’m holding that MFkn GRAMMY!
We love your new single ‘Out Of Love’, what more can you tell us about it?
I wanted to write a “villain” type track and this definitely fits the bill. It’s a little darker than your typical break up anthem. The song is about finally reaching a place after a break up where you just don’t give a fuck! and you are very much over the situation, where you realise your worth and also realise like damn, they are actually a lil ugly, I was just blind in love. It’s about not being phased by their attempts to come back into your life, because you are so far past the point of return.
What else do you have planned for the near future?
I just want to release as much music as possible, I want to keep creating and enjoying the process. I want to put together a few shows in the near future.
And finally, who is your biggest fan right now?
My mum, always…
