Who TF is Ava Valianti?

We had a chat with rising young artist Ava Valianti following the release of her introspective fifth single ‘Laugh Track’

Every since she emerged onto the scene two years ago with her debut single ‘Bubble Wrap’, prodigious young artist Ava Valianti is somebody that we have keeping tabs on here at CLOUT, impressed by the emotional core and melodic nature of her sound and style.

The artist’s fifth and most recent single ‘Laugh Track’ is one that continues to expand upon the thoughtful appeal and charm of her sound, honing in on the self-doubt and identity issues that come with performing with the distinctive sense of humour and personality that has so often characterised her work. Her artistry and talent only seems to grow with each new release, and as we continue to find ourselves captivated by her work, we figured it was a great time to have a chat with Ava and find out a bit more about her.

Who TF is Ava Valianti?

Hi, I’m Ava Valianti! I’m a 15 year old singer-songwriter from Newbury, MA and I love singing, acting, photography, and playing the ukulele!

How long have you been making music?

I’ve been singing since I was around 6, and started recording at age 13, releasing my first single ‘bubble wrap’ almost 2 years ago!

Why do you make music?

I make music because I think music is one of the most powerful tools for feeling deep emotions, and I want to make people feel through the music I create!

What are your biggest influences?

I’d have to say my biggest influences are Carole King, Fiona Apple, Olivia Rodrigo, Ella Fitzgerald, and Stevie Wonder, they all mean the world to me and inspire everything I do, just absolute legends.

What would you say has been your best moment so far?

I’d say my best moment has to be going to New York City to record and perform. A few months ago, I went to New York for a week of recording new songs and had 2 amazing gigs, one at a cool art gallery in Brooklyn, and one at the iconic Bitter End! It was truly a surreal experience!

How would you describe your sound to somebody unfamiliar with it?

I’d say that my sound is pop and a little indie, and I try and add acoustic elements and individuality to everything I create!

What’s your dream “I’ve made it” moment?

I’d say definitely the classic dream is singing to a stadium of thousands of people singing it back to me! I’d love that because that would mean my art made a difference and that people connected with the songs

We love your new single ‘Laugh Track’, what more can you tell us about it?

Thanks so much! ‘Laugh Track’ is a song that I created because of some of my insecurities about humor and likability, but with an upbeat instrumentation and a lot of pop culture references!

What else do you have planned for the near future?

I’m very excited to say that this Fall I’ll be releasing an EP, with new singles coming out soon! In fact, my next single, ‘Distant’, comes out on May 23, so make sure to listen!

And finally, who is your biggest fan right now?

I’d say that would have to be my parents. I’m so grateful to have such supportive people in my life and I love them so much! Yeah, they’re definitely my biggest cheerleaders.
