We had a chat with alternative duo Jane N’ The Jungle and found a bit more about their story, future plans, and their incredible, intense new single ‘Parasite’
Renowned for their atmospheric brand of alternative rock that is packed full of rage, precision and an empowering sense of strength and defiance, Jane ‘N The Jungle are a duo who consistently defy expectations and ascend to powerful new heights as they continue to expand upon their dynamic and impactful sound.
Their latest single ‘Parasite’ is a track that encapsulates everything that makes them feel special. Throat-searing and intense vocals, hard-hitting instrumentation, and a thoughtful and harrowing narrative that explores the way that AI is slowly taking over and turning us into the titular ‘Parasite’. We love this new release and the sheer power and drive that it possesses in every corner, and figured that it made for a great time to get to know Jane N’ The Jungle a little better and find out some more about the project, their story, and what they have planned for the future.
Who TF are Jane N’ The Jungle?
Brian Dellis and myself, “Jordan White” are “Jane N’ The Jungle. I’m the lead singer of the band, and Brian is the guitarist. We are from Phoenix, AZ and created a garage rock band in 2013 that later formed into Jane N’ The Jungle in 2015. We write our own music and were heavily influenced by 90’s alternative and grunge early on in the creation of the project. I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2011, trained in theater performance while Brian was a self taught guitar player growing up in punk rock bands with his friends. We are grateful to the hard rock community who featured us early on supporting bands such as; Powerman 5,000, From Ashes to New, Lacey Sturm, and DED. Even though we were not a metal or hard rock band at that time, our emotional performances and gritty storytelling continued to pave our way in the hard rock genre, which has led us to a modern rock sound in our most recent years.
How long have you been making music?
Brian and I created a band out of my garage in 2013 and have been making music together ever since. Before that, we were both writing music in other projects. I was a solo acoustic artist performing at coffee houses and Brian was in a couple bands that wrote their own music.
Why do you make music?
I make music because it’s the only way I can fully express myself. Turning raw heartache into something beautiful allows others to feel it too, creating connection. In a time when screens replace presence, music reminds us what it feels like to be imperfectly human.
What are your biggest influences?
We are influenced by raw edgy rock, alternative and punk music. We like to write about social issues, societal pressures, empowerment, personal struggle, loss and themes of love. Our love for 90’s alternative and grunge music will always be the heart of our influence and what inspired our band from the start.

What would you say has been your best moment so far?
One of my favorite moments was in 2022 when we performed on the main stage at SXSW opening for The Warning and Sammy Hagar & The Circle. It was our biggest show to date and such an amazing moment being able to share the stage with such legendary artists.
How would you describe your sound to somebody unfamiliar with it?
We have a modern rock sound with elements of punk, metal and grunge. Raw cutting female powerhouse vocals with knock out punches.
What’s your dream “I’ve made it” moment?
It was our SXSW 2022 performance that became a full circle moment for us because Jane N’ The Jungle started right before our SXSW tour in 2015. At that time, we were playing at unofficial festival venues with such excitement and hopes to one day play an official SXSW festival event. When we finally got asked to play on the main stage, it was truly a dream moment.
We love your new single ‘Parasite’, what more can you tell us about it?
We are so glad you like it, thank you! We wrote “Parasite” in 2023 working with Cameron Mizell in Nashville, TN. We wanted to write a song about artificial intelligence and how it’s making us feel less human. The theme “Parasite” quickly formed and everything came together pretty seamlessly within a studio day. This song marks a new era for us as this sets the tone for a new hard rock and metal sound.
What else do you have planned for the near future?
Brian and I have been working on a new modern hard rock project since the beginning of this year with a lot of time spent on the themes and sound to reflect where we are at today as artists. Our new project will be launched under a new band name. We have been working with a new team of producers that share in the creative vision and excited to share more details soon. We will still continue to write and perform under Jane N’ The Jungle, and hope this can connect us back to our alternative grunge roots.
And finally, who is your biggest fan right now?
It’s probably both of our parents! Shoutout to them for wearing all of our new test Merch designs and listening to all our new demos. I think we have about 7 different t-shirt drafts….
We greatly appreciate everyone’s support for our music and look forward to continuing our journey together.
