The track is from the artist’s upcoming second EP Confused @ 22
In 2022, you can literally have fully formed relationships and feel like you know people who you have never even met real life or even been in the same country as, and on latest release ‘Body Language’, Alexa Cappelli looks at the pitfalls and limitations of a relationship that is formed in this way.
Sonically, the track is engaging and bubbling with life, really coming into its own as its effortlessly fun chorus comes around. ‘Body Language’ is a thoughtful track that addresses modern problems with a really modern, cutting edge sound and sheen. The young artist has been really establishing herself as a force in alternative pop for some time now, and with the impending release of her second EP Confused @ 22, the best of Alexa Cappelli could still be yet to come.
“‘Body Language’ is about getting to know someone in every possible way except for in person.” Alexa says on the theme of the track. “It could be a long distance fling, or a new someone you meet online. They call and say all the right things, but in the heat of the spark, you remember they don’t actually know the real you. This song is a fun take on the idea to not judge a book by its cover, or even the preface for that matter. Good intentions are important for romantic relationships, but so is having a safe, accepting, and fun physical presence. How can you know when you haven’t spent much time in the same room?”
