The two Mexico City solo artists combine to craft something that feels equal parts unique and captivating.
Melding jangly guitars with almost hypnotising psychedelic indie pop, Andrea Franz and Andrés Arzate have crafted something truly unique and new on ‘Worst Curse’.
Andrea wrote the lyrics and melody, and Andrés contributed all of the musical arrangements and production, but the twos ideas work together seamlessly on the track. There is a mesmerising and almost euphoric quality at times, as Andrea pulls you in, both with her dancing and the tracks heartbroken lyrics about love and relationships.
The sound seems to pull the best from sounds of the past and contemporary music to create something that feels completely fresh and new. The melancholic themes laced with its more carefree instrumentation and production provide something that will stick with you for a while.
