Emerging Dublin alternative pop artist Anie Valentine and her band have immediately established themselves as a fun and engaging outfit with their engrossing debut release ‘Ending Things’.

The track is a break-up anthem that melds modern alt-pop sounds with grunge and pop punk-inspired sounds of the past, making for a unique cocktail that feels both cutting edge and effortlessly their own. There is a Pixies-esque nonchalance to the way that the track begins that soon descends into a full on aural assault come the track’s impactful chorus, Anie is someone that has an undeniable charisma, leaving you hanging on her every word with her uncompromising, cutting lyrics magnetic presence. A stellar debut from an outfit that we’re looking forward to hearing more from.

Anie says. “The persona that I take on in my music – I don’t think that’s who I really am; I spent a really long time making men out of monsters, trying to humanise the people who treated me unkindly- and I guess Anie Valentine is a way for me to take the power back and make monsters out of men for a change. It’s healing”
